Definition, meaning, and explanation of

Distributed Inventory Placement

The Amazon Inventory Placement Service is an inventory distribution service for the Amazon FBA sellers.

Merchants can sign up for the Inventory Placement program and can ship their inventory to a single Fulfillment  Center that is then rerouted to other facilities.

This means Amazon sellers send their inventory to a single Amazon receiving or fulfillment center, instead of having to send split shipments separately to multiple Amazon fulfillment centers in different locations.

Amazon receives inventory and reships it to other warehouses for optimal placement and distribution. So, the best part is that Amazon handles the distribution.

Amazon Inventory Placement Service is a good option for those sellers or inventories which are small-sized, lightweight goods or small shipments or smaller inventory volumes or products with a high profit margin.
